I am looking forward so much to Coldcuts’ “Sound Mirrors”… I have just read the review in the 0106 de:bug, and it seems there is something big coming up, that really comes close to 1997′s masterpiece “Let us Play”. Sounds incredible? Yes it does, and furthermore Jonathan More and Matt Black have been working on various projects like this label called Ninja Tune, the Solid Steel radioshow, some political initiatives.

Also, the new Five Deez “Kommunikator” album is worth a close look. Five Deez now consist of Fat Jon (Berlin love!), Pase Rock (NYC), Kyle David und Sonic (Cincinatty). Looking forward to a wonderful rap lp.

Nein, es geht hier nicht um die sprichwörtliche Büchse, die ein Geschenk von Zeus an Pandora, der nach griechischer Mythologie ersten Frau auf Erden, war. Denn diese Büchse sollte ja geschlossen bleiben [Pandora öffnete sie – übermannt durch ihre Neugier – trotzdem und ab diesem Zeitpunkt kam alles Schlechte über die Welt…], während http://www.pandora.com unbedingt zur Öffnung über euren Browser zu empfehlen ist. Da tun sich nämlich interessante Dinge! Basierend auf einer Software namens „Music Genome Project“, wird dort eigens nach eurem Musikgeschmack ein persönlicher Internet-Radiosender kreiert. Man gibt einfach Musiker/in oder Bandnamen ein und Pandora spielt eine Abfolge von Songs, die dem gefragten Stil entsprechen. Die Software ordnet Musik nämlich nach Attributen wie Harmonie oder Melodie und findet so passende Ergänzungen für die Playlist. Abgesehen von einigen wenigen Durchhängern funktioniert das beängstigend gut, egal ob mit Underground-Rap oder Housegrooves. Also, wenn ihr noch keinen DJ für eure Silvesterparty habt, dann probiert Pandora mal aus und lasst euch positiv überraschen!
